Dear Gentlemen,

I have a rivet gun and am experienced in setting rivets. It seems the stamped AKs I own are all
put together with rivets etc. How difficult is it to replace a barrel and trunnion? I have searched
the net for suitable guides to gunsmithing these great rifles (the TIMEX of the genre). I own an early
pre-ban Norinco AK as well as a newer ROMAK. I would like to purchase a new and different barrel
assembly, but would like your guidance as to the particulars required. As I am looking at my rifle now,
I can see (while looking at the ejection port side) a large rivet directly above the chamber entrance of the
, above two 3/8" rivets (I assume the trunnion rivets). If I need to change a barrel, is it the large rivet
I tap out (or rather drill out). If I need to change the trunnion to be compatible with the new barrel (which
ones are compatible with which? Chinese bbl w/ Romanian bbl? Bulgarian trunnion w/ E german bbl?). Any
guidance as to any books on the subject (not the same BS drivel with basic field strip procedures)or sites with
the pertinent info would be greatly appreciated. Also, any source for POLISH AK parts?

Sorry for the length of the message. But I just GOTTA KNOW !!!

Thanx,

DUITYRSELFR
