Did they make a silencer for the ak? the sks?

I hear that they made a silencer for the AK. Is this true? Also, is the action too noisy to merit the use of such a device? I have a HIGH qual ak(btw, I am out of the US, so I am not under bs-atf regulations!) If they did make one, how large was it? Do they still make one? Did it slow the bullet below the speed of sound?
