My buddy's rigged "full" auto mak90, is it dangerous?

A pal of mine shaved down part of the hammer in his mak90 so it only taps into the sear. This produces a full-auto-like effect by slam-firing when the trigger is held down. I tried to tell him that it can fire out of battery and blow up in his face. How much danger is he in? HELP!
