Ban on Ammo, Surplus Guns - Whose the Enemy! The internet is alive with rumors about an official ban that has been put in place by our Govt. It is being said that they are using a guideline "if it was made with U.S. Technology". This is something that started while we were attending the past Shot Show. It is being presented by the State Dept. as a possible way for "our current administration" to enforce some more ammo and gun control. By the Clinton Administration going through the State Dept., it is believed that they can circumvent the normal legislative methods used to do something like this. By making a suggestion to the State Dept. they can always deny or get out of getting blamed for this very under handed way of doing things. Who are the real enemies to our freedoms-not the Clintons or Schumers-but our own Gun Industry Manufacturers. There are a certain group of manufacturers who have done more, and continue to do more, to enforce legislation and restrictions than any anti-gun group out there. Would we have a magazine ban if it were not for Old Bill Ruger who felt that no American needed more than 10 rounds, but was protecting his right to sell the Govt and Police hi-cap mags for his weapons. What about Colt and their not wanting Imports allowed so that only they could sell a "so-called"assault weapon. Lastly, who do you think was responsible to open the Govts eyes to the fact that the shouldn't allow any ammo into the country that was made with US Technology-our own Manufacturers protecting their ability to make money and stamp out competition. We can go on and on-how about that one regarding one of Charles Schumers contributors being the new President or CEO of Colt and that was published in the media recently. This little posting is an attempt to open the eyes of the Newcomers to our shooting fraternity and perhaps result in a lot of people asking a lot of questions, before we are BACK- DOORED again and we loss more of our rights and freedoms. Mr Schumer's blast regarding the Internet has to remind some of us of Sen. McCarthy and his hearings and methods - we are being done in and some of us don't even realize or care. If this results in a few writing to their Senators and Congressman great - it's about time we stop letting them shove it up our asses without so much as a fight! I am in the ammo business and damn proud of it, I am proud to own guns and enjoy shooting-I don't enjoy people taking away my rights.
