Can Saiga be turned into AK?

Is it possible to move the trigger parts forward and will they interchange with a US-made
parts kit? I was thinking it would be great to have an AK-type rifle that's on a real Russian receiver.
Does anyone know how the quality of the Russian receiver compares to, say, an Egyptian Maadi?
