SLR-95 w/ evil pistol grip

I saw an SLR-95 Bulgarian AK-47 with a pistol grip for sale. My question was, how do I know if it is pre- (89)ban? But since I read here that Bulgarians (AKs) weren't imported before the "Tax Act" of 89 I guess is is "post ban".
I have seen Bulgarian pistol grip/stock sets for sale. Is there anything they are legal on??
I have also seen US manufactured kits that incorporate US made gas tube, magazine followers and other parts that make a"post-ban" stock and pictol grip conversion legally. (or so they say)
How do I find out if it's a post ban with US made parts (and "good"), or post-ban w/ imported changes (evil)? Anyone know?
Does anyone know what has to be changed out on an SLR-95 besides US made grip and stock?
How are US made stock and grips identifiable from the Bulgarian?
