Refinishing Maadi's Metal...Please assist!

	I want to strip my Maadi's flat finish off and make it the same finish as a Russian AKM or other Combloc AKM. I am redoing the stocks a real nice, kind of dark maple color that resembles some of the Combloc wood. I need to know what finish on the metal would be best? And what procedure?
