I know this is a late post but it looks like no one has ever answered you. The only place I know of to get a true RPK receiver other than a war bringback is to buy a VEPR rifle from Robinson Arms. The Vepr is made on a true Russian RPK receiver. The RPK is definitely a quality product. It is quite simply the SAW version of the AKM, except that there is no facility for a quick barrel change. It is a Kalishnikov and is nearly identical to the AKM. You have the longer barrel and slightly thicker walled sheet steel receiver but otherwise they're virtually the same. K-Var Corp has Bulgarian RPK kits and real Russian laminated wood sets for it. Put that on a real Russian RPK receiver and it doesn't get much closer to the real deal than that.
