I just test fired my cur-2 Romainian 74. Prior to firing the piece, I had installed the original Romainian bolt carrier. I was using Romainian ammo marked 332, 97. After firing the first magazine my shooting partner and I recovered 16 of the 30 fired cases. Each case had a cratered primer, and one case had a split approx. 1/4 " long on the case neck and onto the shoulder. Would anyone have an educated guess as to the cause of this? I intend to exchange the original carrier back into the piece and try again, but I have changed bolt carriers in other AK's (7.62 x 39) without any headspace problems prior to this. Thank you in advance for any help. |
