are you reffering to the STV 40? > I own both the Romak 3 and a SVT40 in excellent condition and bore. The SVT won't cut it as a sniper rifle although the design of the Dragunov was met to cure some of its ill's. Thats why great effort was made to reduce the gas piston length in the hopes that it would improve accuracy but the real fault was the forearm. It's often quoted that the Dragunov wasn't designed to be a target rifle in the Weastern sense, thats a bunch of bull! They did the best they could with the resources they had, it was good enough and will on adverage shoot 2" groups at 100 meters maybe a little better with match grade ammo although it is so rare it must not have been intended to waste on Dragunovs. The Dragunov type rifles (Romak 3, Tigers, ect.) are mean looking rifles and still rare. That's there appeal, It has never been the best at anything and therefore never copied by any modern western manufacturer. It amazes me how many fo the Dragunovs reported on these sites always have the exception to the rule, there's shoot 1" or better yet I never, ever see them at Camp Perry. The rifle has been out for 40 years, surely there is a gunsmith out there willing to spend a few hours to turn a pearl into a diamond. HHmmmm?
