Mine loves Black Hills 168gr. moly BTHP. In the Nov. 1997 issue of SWAT magazine, they tested and found that same load to give the best results with their NDM-86 .308 returning a best group of .36 @ 100 from sandbags. I have also had stellar performance from Hornady 165gr SP custom load. My personal best is a 5 shot group POA/POI @ 200 yards from the sandbags measuring right at 1 inch. Too bad I can't do that all the time, but apparently the rifle can. I have had decidedly bad luck with Remington 150gr Nosler Ballistic Tips. Winchester 168 gr Silvertips have performed fairly well, but not as good as the Hornady. Unfortunately, I gave up the Hornady after one of the SPs mushroomed from the mag and jammed the gun. I figured I couldn't chance it happening when it counted if I needed a follow-up shot.......though I never have before (knock on wood). Saleen |
