For those of you with Chinese variants of our favorite military sniper rifle, I'm sure you have encountered the dreaded paint flake. Even new, some guns exhibit this to some degree, and for those who shoot, the problem just gets worse. In my case, the dust cover was chipped to hell behind the ejection port, and the exposed barrel threads over the chamber were bare metal and quickly rusted with any outdoor use.
If this situation sounds familiar, let me suggest that you contact Mike at MSC (check for his link above). Anyone who has been reading this board for any length of time has probably heard of Mike, and several examples of his work have been posted here. I know it has been said before, but his work is first rate! I sent my SVD to him for a parkerizing job, and he promptly returned it with a nice dark grey finish instead of that nasty paint. He promised a ten day turnaround, and beat his own deadline despite problems matching the finish due to metal / heat treating irregularities which necessitated more time and effort than he originally anticipated. I highly suggest his services to anyone desiring quality work at a fair price. THANKS MIKE!
