as far as my experiences go, i can tell you that through a nagant the czeck silvertip is a great round. i've made headshots on silhouette targets at 200 yds with open sights with it. i haven't tried it in my romak yet though. the russian silvertip is great too, but both of these rounds are corrosive, so clean yer weapon when yer done. if you are looking to buy russian silvertip look for the " 188" silvertip. there will be a 188 headstamp on the bottom of the case. this is the factory number that manufactured it. i've heard that 188 is the same factory that made the famed sniper load for the SVD ( 7N1). there are other factories that made russian silvertip but i know guys on this board have sworn by the 188. ther are also API rounds that you can buy in this caliber. the great part is that they come loaded, strait from overseas. no reloading to do. i haven't tried any of it yet but i have a hundred rounds of it burning a hole in my pocket, so when spring comes i'll try them. they have a black tip and a red ring around the black tip and all of the ones i've seen are copper washed. they go for antwhere from 50 cents to a buck a round. there were two types of it and one of them has a tungsten core and thermite. a hell of a round. i've talked to my local gun dealer and he says winchester will be coming out after the SHOTT show and it will run about 12 bucks a box. ouch! well that's all for now. happy hunting
