I am considering entering a silhouette match this weekend using my .308 SVD and want to know if anyone else has had experience doing this. I was going to use a Garand but my offhand is really bad with that heavy rifle. The SVD is much lighter and having the scope would seem to be an advantage. The range will be 200 meters with reduced size targets simulating farther distances. 40 shots all in a row. I may use Norma surplus 7.62 nato that I think has a 143 grain bullet. Think that's too light for 200 yards?
