It seems like the PO-6 scope on my Romak has a fair degree of misalignment with the direction of fire - when I zero it, the aiming chevron ends up significantly deflected from the center of the target image. I'm wondering whether it's possible to put shims into the scope base to minimize the amount of deflection needed here... I notice that the plate that actually makes contact with the mounting rail on the rifle is attached to the scope base by four screws, two on each end. I wonder if I might unscrew the plate & insert some metal shims in the appropriate places to correct the deflection. If you've dealt with this kind of thing before, how does this sound to you ? I'm new to scopes, so if significant reticle deflection after zeroing is normal, OK - seems unnatural to me. I'd rather go with the shims than get the rail machined or something like that. Thanks ! |
