flak jacket

	I found a U.S. veitnam issue flak jacket for $65, the thing weighs 30 pounds and closes with velcro,does this jacket have any ability to stop a bullet?like could I put inserts of some kind? I know if its much heavier it'd be a real chore to wear,thanks to anyone with info
