I have recently purchased a Russian night vision scope. Since it did not come with a owner's manual, I'm a little confused regarding its specs. The box reads (in Russian) "Pritzel Opticheski Nochnoi PON 3X78 BelOMO." The scope's size and dimesions are nearly identical to a ANPVS-2 except for a big block on the back left hand side wich holds the 4 AA batteries and the ON/OFF switch. The outside of the scope is made from a black anodized aircraft aluminum. The scope also has a daytime filter (with red plastic windows) which screws onto the front and a cold weather remote battery pack. The remote battery pack connects to the scope via a long wire. I speculate that the remote battery pack is placed inside a shooter's jacket to keep it warm, so the batteries don't run down. Can anyone tell me what generation this scope is and the light amplification of the tube. I've seen several pictures of PON 3 scopes on the web, but none of them look anything like this one.
